Sister Laurianne Michaud, OSU

Sister Laurianne Michaud, OSU, also known as Sister Elizabeth Therese, died peacefully Oct. 11, 2022, in Waterville, Maine. She was age 97.
The daughter of Joseph Michaud and Mary Ann Desilets, she was born Aug. 7, 1925, in Lewiston, Maine. She entered the Ursuline community in 1944 and professed her vows on Jan. 16, 1947.
Sister Laurianne earned a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the College of New Rochelle and a master’s degree in education from Boston College. She also earned certification in theology from Providence College.
She was a K-12 teacher and principal, serving in Waterville, Brunswick, Sanford and Lewiston, Maine; Dedham, Springfield, Boston and North Scituate, Massachusetts; and Bronx, New York. She also served the Ursuline community as prioress, treasurer and provincial councilor.
Sister Laurianne is survived by a sister, Delores Michaud Bilodeau, and a brother, Gerard Michaud and wife Alice. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Michaud and Raymond Michaud.
A private interment was held at St. Angela Way cemetery.
