Companions In Mission

This volunteer program is attractive to women and men seeking service-oriented volunteer work with a spiritual and community dimension. The impact on the lives of the Companions themselves and on those they serve is beyond measure.

The cost to sponsor one volunteer for a 12-month period is about $9000. The commitment of the Ursuline Sisters to the Companions in Mission program is strong but, without the generosity of a network of supporters and benefactors, such a program is impossible.

The challenges caused by the current economic situation, especially the decrease in AmeriCorps funding available to volunteer programs, are impacting volunteer programs all across the U.S.

Villa Maria Retreat Center: “Where God is center and the world is welcome.”

Villa Maria Center is an interfaith retreat and conference center operated by the Ursuline Sisters for the purpose of assisting people in their spiritual and personal development and search for God. The Center hosts retreats and meetings for visiting groups and offers its own programs and directed and private retreats as well as spiritual direction. The retreat center, approximately 90 minutes from Minneapolis/St. Paul by car, is a haven of peace, prayerfulness and sacred space.

The Center relies on the generosity of benefactors to raise $50,000 annually.
