They call each other to be more directly concerned with those less fortunate in our society, those marginalized due to economics, ethnic background, or lack of education.

One way the sisters assist those less fortunate is through grants from the Angela Merici Fund. Emphasis is given to projects where Central Province Ursulines are in ministry and the funds benefit the economically poor. Consideration is given to projects where other funding is not easily available and priority is given to projects within Central Province boundaries.

The sisters are restricted in how monies can be distributed, especially since the fund has not yet reached it target dollar amount of $750,000. Mid-2003 figures show the fund has $385,000. Until the goal amount is reached, no more than 15% of the Fund can be distributed each year. Yet, each year, the need for assistance grows!
